I apologies for the typos and spelling mistakes in my previous comment. My dyslexia clearly shines through my comments. Inadvertently I posted the non spell checked version. I am quiet positive that my poor content has no impact on the quality of the original post.

That post reminded me of my grand father, my personal Hero. I translate paraphrase his words to the best of my abilities “complaisance is the product of our ability to lie to our selves, Learn to be your own best critic and you will never fail in life” .
Much respect Fabrice, not only did your resonate with his, You helped me realize how important it is to have periodic structured conversations with your self to help your evaluate and track your own progress. I crated an email account dedicated to periodic email conversations with myself.
Thanks

I also found this quite interesting. First from the perspective that yes, even successful folk find themselves at crossroads and uncertain at points in their lives. Secondly from a different spiritual angle - it is very similar to the Quaker approach to decision making: lay out all the facts, cover the key directions, and then open yourself to introspection and "guidance" whether you believe it to come from above or deep within your psyche.

Fabrice Spiritual Exercises = Introspection by e-mail...

Ok, so its not really about the Spiritual Exercises, but doing this kind of introspection is certainly very Jesuit-y. I'm quite sure that's not a word, but then again, neither is truthiness. I think I'm going to start doing this....

Mike,

This was an e-mail from 2001. I decided to stay an entrepreneur then, and I will remain an entrepreneur now. The reason I am keeping mum on my projects is that they are still in the development stage. But there is a business reason I was in Argentina - the tech team for one of my projects is there. The wheels are in motion, it's a question of time. As for speaking of Web 2.0 companies and business ideas in general, that is definitely my intent going forward. I have not posted anything in my "business musings" category, but have plenty to say. Stay tuned :)

Fabrice,

Very interesting mail. What would be even more interesting is where you are in the thought process now of what to do next. Obviously it seems you want to start another tech company, however from your blog, it seems you are looking into acting as a VC or rather an Angel as well. Tell me, what is your view of the current Web2.0 startup environment where these days its about 'build to flip' rather than actually chasing profitability ? Obviously it hints at a new irrationality but the CEOs who have been successful at this, Flickr, Delicious, etc all talk about the value they are bringing in their new products. What is your view on this...........
