Another funny one; Happy Anniversary to the first Hard drive ever. The 50 yo 1956 IBM RAMAC 305, $50,000, 1 Ton, 50 24" discs @ 1200/3600 RPM, 8KB/s and a stunning 5 MB total capacity. Yes! 5 Megabytes for $50,000. Obviously, less than 1000 units sold in 5 years. Pics and more details in French here. Enjoy our luck to be born in the seventies.

Who can forget DigiScents, which got laudatory reviews in 1999 for developing an "iSmell" hardware device to add fragrances to websites?

It was indeed a trip down memory lane! It was cool to revisit some of those concepts or appliances that went the way of the dodo. In a random note, the sock puppet from Pets.com is now used in commercials by an auto loan company 1 800-BAR-NONE. :)
